MARIGOT--President Daniel Gibbs is encouraging owners of traditional houses on Grand Case Boulevard to restore them and is keen to know what their intentions are and the difficulties they may be facing.
He made it clear during his New year wishes in Grand Case on January 22 that the Collectivité wishes to assist the owners of these houses to preserve the architectural characteristics of the village and enhance this heritage as part of the village’s reconstruction.
A letter from Gibbs presenting the Collectivité’s wishes was sent to each identified owner, based on the inventory of heritage buildings established in 2016 and revised in 2018 following the passage of Hurricane Irma carried out by the Directorate of Territorial Archives and Heritage.
This first contact aims to establish a link with these owners to find out their intentions regarding the reconstruction of their property and to identify the difficulties they are currently facing. As part of the development of the territory and the enhancement of Grand Case Bay, the Collectivité, under the leadership of Gibbs and his team, wishes to not only highlight the architectural and historical treasures of the Boulevard to contribute to the territory’s economic attractiveness, but also to recreate a pleasant living environment for the residents of the district.
