Geerlings back in Parliament today

PHILIPSBURG--Finance Minister Perry Geerlings will be back before Parliament today, Tuesday, to seek the approval of the legislature to sign a 30-year zero interest loan with a five-year grace period with the Dutch Government. The loan is for much-needed liquidity support for government.

The amendment to the 2018 budget was already handled in a central committee sitting on Friday. Today’s plenary session aims to complete the procedure with Members of Parliament (MPs) set to vote on the amendment.
The public sitting starts at 4:00pm in Parliament House.
The parliamentary session will be live on St. Maarten Cable TV Channel 115, Pearl Radio FM 98.1, SXMGOV Radio 107.9 FM, www.pearlfmradio.sx, www.sxmparliament.org and Facebook.com/Parliament of Sint Maarten.
