GEBE load shedding today, outages will be for 1 to 1.5 hrs   

 

PHILIPSBURG--Households and businesses around the country will experience power outages during the course of the day today, Thursday as utilities company GEBE is currently load shedding. 

  A number of districts have been off for one hour to one hour and a half periods as part of the load shedding process.

GEBE media relations officer Paula Gordon said the company is "having some issues" with one of its larger engines at the power plant.

  

 Out so far has been areas around Kim Sha, Puerto del Sol and Cole Bay Lagoon (from 10:20am).

  At 11:40am Madame Estate, Arch Road, The Keys and surrounding area as well as parts of Saunders and parts of Cay Hill were out.

  Out from 1:00pm are Oyster Pond, Belvedere, parts of Dutch Quarter, Cupecoy and parts of Lowlands.   

  From 1:30pm parts of Zagertsgut will be re-energized, Gordon said.
