GEBE disconnection resumes February 5

PHILIPSBURG--Persons who have outstanding arrears at utilities company GEBE should settle their bills or visit the company to arrange a payment plan before February 5 if they want to avoid being disconnected.

  GEBE will be resuming its disconnection for clients who are in arrears as of February 5, one day shy of five months after Hurricane Irma wrought havoc in St. Maarten.

  The company said in a press release on Sunday that customers with outstanding bills should pay prior to the start of the disconnection date to avoid being disconnected.

  Customers who require a payment instalment plan are urged to visit GEBE’s office prior to the disconnection date. A down payment of one-third of the outstanding bills will be required to obtain the payment plan.

  GEBE’s business hours are 7:45am to 3:00pm Monday to Friday. The Philipsburg and Simpson Bay branches are available for payment plans, payment of bills and other customer-related inquires, GEBE said.
