Local artist and art teacher Tim Dowling hosted a grand opening of his art gallery ArtHouse St. MaARTen at St. John’s Estate commercial centre on St. Maarten Day, November 11.
Dowling is an animator and artist who worked for well-known studios such as Disney, Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon, had his paintings exhibited in Ireland, Russia and Italy, and always wanted to have a place at home in St. Maarten to display his art and to teach art. There were painting activities and art demonstrations by Dowling throughout the well-attended opening day. Art classes are open to students ages seven years and older. Special evening classes for adults and afternoon classes for children and teenagers are also on offer. ArtHouse St. MaARTen is open Monday-Friday 12:00-7:00pm, and Saturday from 9:00am to 6:30pm.
