MARIGOT--French Minister of Labour, Muriel Pénicaud, is visiting the islands of Guadeloupe, Martinique, and St. Martin, from today, December 14 to Monday, December 18, Senator Guillaume Arnell disclosed.

Her visits are in connection with professional training and employment.

“Unfortunately, I am unable to accompany her in St. Martin as I need to stay in Paris for examination of a budget in the Senate during this period,” Arnell said. “I thank her, however, for receiving me on December 8, at her Ministry to prepare her trip. During this exchange I did not miss the opportunity to discuss the specific problems of our territory, now and before Hurricane Irma.

“I also asked her to receive me on her return to Paris to share with me her report from St. Martin and to discuss measures that we can implement to find sustainable solutions for the structural problems of our territory.”
