Fire alarm sounded at Police Station

Firefighters rushed to police headquarters in Philipsburg on Friday evening after receiving reports that the building's fire alarm had sounded off. Police staff members recently held a drill with the same scenario: staff were seen coming out of the building while firefighters rushed inside to find out where the smoke was coming from.

According to initial reports, the police drone was charging Friday evening and the battery overheated, causing the smoke from the battery to set off the fire alarm. After an inspection of the building, the Fire Department gave the “all clear” for officers to return to the building.
