Experts meet for two-day  communication congress

Participants in the “Communication, Power of the Kingdom Congress”.

WILLEMSTAD--On Thursday, September 1, the two-day “Communication, Power of the Kingdom Congress” was opened digitally by State Secretary for Kingdom Relations and Digitisation Alexandra van Huffelen. Prime Minister of Curaçao Gilmar Pisas also spoke at the opening.

The congress was opened by State Secretary Alexandra van Huffelen.

The two-day conference in Curaçao was organised by National Department Caribbean Netherlands RCN, the Ministry of Home Affairs and Kingdom Relations and other partners.

  Approximately 150 communication professionals from Bonaire, St. Eustatius, Saba, Curaçao, St. Maarten, Aruba, Suriname and the European Netherlands followed various masterclasses and workshops in the field of communication.

  On Thursday, the masterclasses “The umbrella of intercultural communication” and “Words between mistrust and disinterest” took place. Employees in the area of crisis management also participated in the workshop “Crisis communication: working together in the eye of the storm”.

  On Friday, masterclasses about “The power of the spoken word” and “Strategic communication in practice – claim your position” were on the schedule.

  “I am pleased that so many professionals in communication took part in this conference, which focuses on sharing knowledge and experience, but above all networking and collaboration,” said RCN communications officer Lucia Beck.
