Collectivité launches employment initiative for persons hard to reach

Employment insertion meeting in progress in Colombier.

MARIGOT--The Collectivité has launched a new operation “Collectivité in the heart of the districts”, an outreach action aiming to create links with people who are remote from employment and to deploy integration actions by going directly to the neighbourhoods to meet the citizens. It is in line with the commitments of the RSM-A majority to strengthen social cohesion on the territory.

The first edition took place in Colombier on Wednesday, August 31, in the presence of Senator Annick Pétrus and Territorial Councillor Martine Beldor, in charge of training, apprenticeship, employment and integration.

Some 17 young people were present and were able to receive information and follow-up. In its approach, the Collectivité has enlisted the support of employment office Pôle Emploi, Mission Locale, the integration structures Entreprise de Maintenance et d’Entretien (EME) and “Tout Est Vert”, and the training organisation VEDA, which presented their support offers to the public.

The objective of this public initiative is to remove the obstacles to integration and to find solutions that meet the needs of people with professional difficulties.

During the meeting with the young people of Colombier, the Collectivité spread a message of hope, as solutions do exist and the institution is there to help them reintegrate. The Collectivité will mobilise all means and schemes (vocational training, various aids, integration clauses in public contracts, integration through economic activity in partnership with the State) to meet the needs.

This approach will be deployed in all of St. Martin’s neighbourhoods. The next meeting will be held in Quartier d’Orléans in November. The schedule and dates of the meetings will be published later.
