Equipment failure affects TelEm services Monday

POND ISLAND--TelEm’s telecommunication services to residential and business customers was interrupted on Monday afternoon following an unexpected failure of network equipment.

At approximately 3:00pm, fixed voice and data services and some mobile services were affected by the equipment malfunction, TelEm said in a press release on Monday evening.

Technicians and engineers quickly identified the problem and were able to restore all services two hours later. The company said it is continuing to monitor the situation and apologised to customers and the public for inconvenience caused.
