Employees make citizen’s arrest of man who stole a cell phone

PHILIPSBURG--The Police Bike Patrol arrested a man identified as K.M.J.D. on Monday for the theft of a cellular telephone from a popular electronics store on Front Street at 11:10am.


According to the police, the suspect went into the store, picked up a cellular phone belonging to one of the employees and ran out of the store. Several employees of the store chased the suspect and caught him shortly after.
The Police Bike Patrol was notified by the store and arrived to arrest the suspect. The man was taken to the police headquarters in Philipsburg where he remains in custody for further investigation.
The cellular phone was returned to the owner, reported police on Monday afternoon.
