ANGUILLA--Miss Great Britain, known to all Anguillians as Miss Anguilla 2017, Dee-Ann Kentish Rogers, made Anguillians proud by reaching the last twenty in the Miss Universe competition that had 94 young women competing. She was one of five chosen from the Europe section of the competition, but disappointed Anguillians by not reaching the last ten.

The event was held at IMPACT Arena, Muang Thong Thank, in Thailand, on December 17. Catriona Gray of the Philippines was crowned the winner by Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters of South Africa, who won last year.

Tourism officials Parliamentary Secretary for Tourism, Cardigan Connor, Anguilla Tourist Board Chair Donna Banks and Manager Corporate Affairs Shellya Rogers were there to encourage and support Dee-Ann. The show was hosted by comedian Steve Harvey and supermodel Ashley Graham, while television personality Carson Kressley and runway coach Lu Sierra provided commentary and analysis throughout the event.
