Policy advisor for Personnel Affairs at the government of St. Eustatius Rianna Bennett (left) took the oath of office Thursday.
Government Commissioner Marcolino Franco (centre) and Acting Government Commissioner Mervyn Stegers (right) were present. Bennett is the daughter of Fire Chief André Bennett and Disaster Coordinator Edris Bennett-Merkman and the niece of former Island Councilman Reuben Merkman. She was born in Statia, where she attended Seventh-Day Adventist primary school and graduated from Gwendoline van Putten secondary school. She attended University of the Netherlands Antilles in Curaçao, where she obtained a Bachelor’s in Human Resources, with a minor in social affairs. She has been working at Personnel Affairs office for the past year.
