  1. EUSTATIUS—Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) Primary School announced Wednesday that classes will reopen on Monday, May 11. Schools in St. Eustatius have been closed since Monday, March 30, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The school reminded parents that “distance learning” will continue May 4 through May 8 and urged parents to use the final week of home schooling “to the best of their ability.”

Acting SDA school director Debora Hinckson explained that regular classes will resume on May 11 with a shortened version of the curriculum, to observe social distancing “to some degree.”

The pupils will attend school according to the following schedule. Pre-kindergarten and Groups 1-3 will attend school daily from 7:30am to 10:00am, while pupils in Group 4 will attend school from 7:30am to 11:30am.

Groups 5-8 in Cycle 2 will attend classes 10:00am to 2:00pm. On Friday Cycle 2 will be dismissed at 1:00pm.
