Chinese community met with police on robberies

PHILIPSBURG--The St. Maarten Police Force met with the Chinese community foundation SCCF at John Larmonie Community Centre on Sunday and had a very informative session with a large group of Chinese businessmen in relation to the recent spike in armed robberies that had taken place in St. Maarten.

A PowerPoint presentation with tips on how to prevent armed robberies was given by the police during the meeting, and the do's and don’ts during a robbery were the topic of exchange.

The police also highlighted the necessary measures they have taken to assist the business community with this spike in robberies; for example, the increase of police patrols, increased control of vehicles, regular visits to businesses by the community police officers in their respective community, etc.
