PHILIPSBURG--St. Maarten Carnival Development Foundation (SCDF) announced Thursday that it is moving to the next phase of preparations for Carnival 2018 with a scheduled booth-holder meeting at Carl & Son’s Unique Inn in Cole Bay on Tuesday, December 19, at 7:00pm.  Booth-holders are urged to attend the meeting to obtain information for Carnival 2018 and some details about Carnival in general.  SCDF received more than 100 new registrants for booths this year, but cannot accommodate everyone. Persons who were allotted a booth have already been notified.

“We are moving straight ahead towards Carnival 2018. We are a little behind schedule due to Hurricane Irma and the recovery of the island as well as personal recovery. Nevertheless, Carnival must go on and the first item on the list are the booth-holders who make up Carnival Village,” SCDF President Alston Lourens said.

Booth-holder meetings focus on a wide range of operational topics inside of Carnival Village.
