Caribbean Perspectives Seminar starts at Maho on Wednesday

 

 MAHO--A 1½-day event titled New Perspectives of the Caribbean – Island Ecological and Economical Development Seminar in Sonesta Maho Beach Resort, Casino and Spa opens tomorrow, Wednesday, and closes at midday Thursday.

  Wednesday’s sessions will include keynote speeches, dialogues, presentations and group discussions. The first half of Thursday will be a closed-door meeting.

  The seminar is jointly hosted by Caribbean China People Foundation (CCPF), Promotion Association of Global Youth Innovative Leaders Community PILC and Beijing International Exchange Association Sustainable Development Committee BJ-SDC. Organisers said the event “has received strong support from the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Tourism, Economic Affairs, Transport and Telecommunication as well as Maho Group and the University of St. Martin.”

  The event will bring together representatives of governments, private enterprises, academic institutions and organisations.

  The seminar’s vision is to explore what people can do both individually and collectively to promote the ecological and economic development of island countries and regions.

  “It is an event of idea exchange and communication, which we believe is important to any kinds of cooperation,” said Cengiz Kucuk, executive chairman of CCPF, one of the hosts of the seminar.
