The move from Bonaire’s temporary container prison in Kralendijk to the new penitentiary at Plantation Aruba was quite an operation.
Four Defence Ministry trucks brought to the island on Royal Navy support vessel Pelikaan transported the detainees under heavy motorised guard and with armed checkpoints along the route, while a Dutch Caribbean Coast Guard helicopter hovered overhead.
