At high-level forum

St. Maarten was recently represented with other countries in the Dutch Kingdom at the High Level Political Forum (HLPF) in New York.

The United Nations event served as a central platform for follow-up and review of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The Dutch delegation was headed by the Netherland’s Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation Lilianne Ploumen. It was decided that the Kingdom would jointly draft a combined Voluntary National Review (VNR) report outlining the state of implementation of the SDGs for the four countries. The report has been presented to the UN secretary-general and is available online at – sustainabledevelopment.un.org/content/documents/16109Netherlands.pdf.
