At cruise meet

Port St. Maarten and St. Maarten Tourist Bureau representatives recently attended the Executive Summit of the Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) in Miami, Florida. The Port, a Diamond member, plans to work on fostering a greater relationship with the European Union (EU) market through its involvement with CLIA as part of its post-Hurricane Irma strategic business development and marketing approach. The destination received “a very good reception” from attendees who were interested in its post-Irma recovery, the Port said. The delegation also had one-on-one meetings with a number of attendees to brief them about St. Maarten being open for business. CLIA has offered its direct support to the Port’s Cruise Business Unit by facilitating follow-up meetings/calls with cruise lines.
