Arrindell’s PPA puts forward 11 candidates

PHILIPSBURG--The People’s Progressive Alliance (PPA) has put forward a slate of 11 candidates for the February 26 snap Parliamentary Election.

  Party leader former Member of Parliament Gracita Arrindell, who heads the list, presented slate to the Central Voting Bureau this afternoon.

  Joining Arrindell at number two is Duncan van Heyningen, followed by Les Brown, Roel Haakmat, Suzy Velasquez, Mirjam Wigman, Haydee Peterson, Armando Gumbs, Frits Leo Richardson, Elwaldo Arrindell and Don Hughes Jr.

  The party requires the endorsement of 142 signatures of eligible voters to get on the ballot come Monday. The orange party does not have a seat in the current parliament comprised of 15 seats.  

  The party had 14 candidates in the last elections and earned a collective 234 votes with Arrindell garnering 84 personal votes.
