Ambulance caught fire near school

EBENEZER--Rushing to an emergency in Ebenezer, paramedics noticed smoke coming from the engine of their ambulance on Thursday morning.

They came out of the vehicle, which quickly caught fire, causing them to run and call the Fire Department.

The incident took place close to 10:00am opposite the Academy P.S.V.E campus. Nobody was hurt during the incident, but the ambulance will be out of commission for good due to the damage done by the flames.

It was not one of the new vehicles recently received; this particular model is part of the 2011 fleet, according to the Ambulance Department.
