Aid shipment to flood zone

When disaster called Swally World answered. A month ago, Trinidad and Tobago was hit by a tropical depression that caused massive flooding in certain areas of the island, leaving many homeless and stranded. St. Maarten entertainment foundation Swally World Entertainment held a successful flood relief drive.

“I am very happy today. The people of St. Maarten proved once again that we can be a beacon of light in a time when we ourselves are down and out, and for that I thank every single person, church and supermarket that has donated to this worthy cause,” said president Kerry Wilson. “My only disappointment was that I sent 15 sponsorship letters to parliament requesting help and only received response from three parliamentarians, so with that I’d like to specially thank Rolando Brison, Ardwell Irion and Tamara Leonard. I’d also like to thank Lotus Night Club, Natasha Gittens, Peter J. Gittens, and Cleveland Codrington and the entire On Dock B.V. and TK Island Wholesalers company for their charitable work.” The ship left the island on Thursday, November 22, and will arrive in Trinidad and Tobago today, November 29.
