Clair Saint-Maximin School in French Quarter.
MARIGOT--The Collectivité dedicated 47,000 euros from its budget for repairs to Clair Saint Maximin School in French Quarter, which was not too badly damaged during the hurricanes.
This was the first primary school that French Prime Minister Edouard Philippe and his delegation visited on November 6, 2017, after emergency repair work had been carried out. The school has 19 classrooms and more than 300 pupils.
Throughout the 2017-2018 school year, the school was being refurbished. In January, the fence was repaired, and in February, the aluminium door and window joinery were repaired. The school sign was also repaired.
The roof, which was relatively undamaged compared to other establishments, was restored and the work was completed in May. The school will be ready on September 3, to welcome the 300 students enrolled there.
