14 colours available to political parties

POND ISLAND--Political parties contesting the snap parliamentary election of February 26, 2018, have fourteen colours from which to choose, based on a Ministerial decision published recently by the Minister of General Affairs in the National Gazette.

The colours available for the February 26 elections, based on article 36, second paragraph, of the Electoral Ordinance, are red, yellow, blue, green, brown, cyan, black, white, purple, magenta, orange, grey, beige and gold.

The colours are used by parties to differentiate from others while campaigning. The chosen colours also appear on the ballot used on Election Day.

Parties request their desired colours on Nomination Day, which for the coming election is January 5, 2018.
