Tortuga: Maho’s Hidden Gem

Tortuga: Maho’s Hidden Gem

Tortuga is a hidden gem of a beach restaurant nestled on the shores of Maho Beach in the Caribbean. From breakfast, lunch, and dinner, seven days a week, Tortuga offers an international menu that includes pizza, pasta, sandwiches, and poke bowls. But their bestsellers are their daily catch of local fish prepared to perfection.

What really sets Tortuga apart is its location. The beachfront restaurant offers waterfront dining and gorgeous views of the turquoise waters of Maho Beach with planes coming in. You can watch the amazing arrival of jumbo jets and the spectacular sunsets over the Caribbean Sea.

During breakfast, the experienced bartenders shake up mimosas and Bloody Marys. For lunch, patrons can enjoy frozen drinks on the beach, and for dinner, they have craft cocktails and exclusive wines for a romantic and classy evening.

Tortuga has been here since 1986, and offers weekly events. Saturdays feature Acoustic Night with Jon France, and Sundays feature the Tortuga Social Club with Los Mojitos. On Tuesdays, Tortuga hosts an in-restaurant marketplace with great local items from 11am to 5pm – for a unique shopping experience overlooking the beach.

And with a minimum purchase, you can get a complimentary beach bed and enjoy the Happy Hour from 3pm to 5pm. Come to Tortuga and enjoy a unique, beachfront dining experience that will leave you with unforgettable memories.

Tropical Carnival Junior costumes reveal

Owner Sebastiaan explains that he always wanted to bring carnival to Maho – to Tortuga. This Sunday, from 4pm to 6pm, that dream is coming true. The Tropical Carnival Troupe will present the junior section of their “Now Showing” theme for St. Maarten Carnival 2023 at the waterfront restaurant. The troupe will reveal their Mermaid, Avatar, Dalmatian, and Movie Ushers children’s costumes. This fun event is open to the public and will feature carnival-inspired drinks and food specials. DJ Vybz will add more to carnival ambiance.

Tortuga is located at La Plage in the Royal Islander Club on Rhine Road in Maho. For reservations or more information, contact +1 (721) 522 6246 or This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
