Jazz, wine and a view ~ with Essynce

Jazz, wine and a view – a perfect combination for a cosy and classy experience. This Saturday, February 25, jazz lovers will enjoy sweet sounds and smooth wine at the new rooftop lounge at the Commodore Suites. Here, famous saxophone player Connis Vanterpool, talented singer Essynce, drummer Chris Sargeant, bass player Bryan and keyboard player Christian Amour will perform live from 8:00pm to 11:00pm.

Connis, one of St. Maarten’s most talented musicians, will host this musical evening. Graduating from Berklee College of Music, the saxophone player started his music career in 1992. He interned at various studios such as Crescent Moon, South Beach Studios and International Sound in Miami, Florida, and currently plays at various public venues on St. Maarten as well as at private events.

Playing with him on Saturday is Essynce during her Birthday Weekend.

Essynce

As a teenager, Essynce was part of the “Lollipops” vocal group directed and created by Anastasia Larmonie. In 1994, Essynce began her official musical journey with the Youth Waves Band, with whom she has completed various recordings and tours. In 2010, the singer embarked on her solo career by recording the song “One Wish” with Connis.

Essynce has launched “Le Piano Noir” – a quaint Jazz Club in Philipsburg, where she performs on a regular basis. This coming year, we can expect new music and musical events both locally and in the neighbouring islands.

For her birthday, Essynce will perform at La Piano Noir on Friday evening, at Commodore Suites on Saturday and Bamboo House on Sunday. “I'm excited about celebrating my birthday this weekend because I haven't been able to celebrate since covid. And, my last live band performance was four years ago, so it's been a long time coming. I am super excited to experience the stage again. There is nothing like it. And most of all to share my heart with the public through music,” she says.

This Saturday, you can expect Essynce to take you on a musical journey. “I will be performing

some of my old hits and some new ones. As a Caribbean girl, I love my international jazz influence, and I will be fusing our island vibe as well,” she says. Lastly, “I would like to congratulate Connis publicly for curating these jazz & wine nights celebrating all our amazing artists. One love.”

The Wine & Jazz Night with Connis, Essynce and friends will take place this Saturday, February 25, at the Commodore Suites above Market Garden in Simpson Bay. The doors open at 8:00pm and tickets cost $20. For tickets and more information, call +1 (721) 522-0518 or pass by Van Dorp. See you there!
