Tyler Timothy top scorer In Primary School Netball

Tyler Timothy, from MAC J.A. Gumbs School team 2 topped the scorers list of the 2022 Interscholastic Primary School Netball Championship. Timothy scored 42 goals in five games of play. She averaged 8.4 points per game.


Makysha jederon from the Seventh Day Adventist School was second with 35 goals. Leonald Connor School’s Shenecia Nelson was third on the top scorer list with 26. She only played two games. Danaysha Richinsin from St. Joseph School and Rheysa Tjon-Tam_Pau both scored 24.
The Season came to a close Sunday as Mac J.A. Gumbs 2 bested Leonald Connor for the Championship.
Seventh Day finished third and was followed by Sister Borgia, St. Joseph and Dr. Martin Luther king Jr. School.
Several individauls were recognized for their performance. Sanai Newton from MAC J.A. Gumbs 2 was named Best Defender. Teammate Tyler Timothy was the Best Shooter.
A’Heyjah Telemaque from Sister Borgia was named Best Midcourt Player. Hillside Christian’s Ih’nata Thomas earned the title Most Outstanding Player and Timothy was the competition’s Most Valuable Player.
A total of ten teams competed in the Interscholastic Primary School Netball Championship. After the final at the L.B. Scott Sports Auditorium, Minister of Education, Culture, Youth & Sports Rodolphe Samuel with assistance of the president of the St. Maarten Netball Association Jaghaira Lioe-A-Tjam gave out the individual awards, medals and trophies to the players and teams.
The umpires and scorers also received recognition for their work during the tournament.
