Two Caribbean Multihull Challenge skippers help local organizations

SIMPSON BAY—Two Multihull skippers won a Lifeline Batteries worth $529.99 each. Ben Eastwood of Sage; a Balance 442, and Paul Britton of Rodeless; a Balance 482 donate their winnings to St. Maarten organizations to use for their own fund-raising.

Eastwood donated his to the St Maarten Yacht Club to benefit their Youth Sailing Program; and Britton donated his to SXM PAWS; the organization that finds forever homes for island dogs. The skippers won the batteries in the Caribbean Multihull Challenge (CMC) raffle. The CMC expanded their program dramatically in February 2023. First there was the introduction of the CMC Cruising Rally, a 52 Mile Around Saba Dash, sponsored by the St Maarten Tourist Bureau, for Racers, and the multiple Cruising Rally entries of six catamarans from a single builder – Balance Catamarans.

Also new CMC sponsor Lifeline Batteries donated two GPL-31 XT AGM Deep-Cycle 12 volt batteries.
