Team SXM takes first in two classes at Island Water World Mini Bucket St Barths

ST. BARTHS—Nine sailors from the St. Maarten Yacht club went over to St. Barths to compete in the 2022 Island Water World Mini Bucket Regatta.
The sailors competed in different classes against sailors from St. Barths, St. Martin and Guadeloupe.


The Laser class was the largest group with 20 boats on the start line. Frits Bus, from St. Maarten took first place, only one point ahead of French Sailor Aiden Fleuret.
Emma Lennox ended up being 7th, with a very impressive first place in race 6. Others competing were Jordan Pieterse, Justin Pieterse, Francener Faustin, C’jai Rivere and Melina de Vries.
In the RS Tera class SMYC’s Massimo Lapierre took the first place. For Massimo it was the first-time racing in the RS Tera.
Maya Speetjens and Clarice Darling sailed for the first time in the RS Feva finishing in seventh place.
