SXM Drag Race revs up for 2 days of high speed action

GRAND CASE--This coming weekend of Saturday, May 30 and Sunday, May 31, 2026, will see the RN7 bypass in Grand Case Road transformed for another highly anticipated edition of  SXM Drag Race organised by Association Moto Action du Nord (AMAN).

This year, the motorsport event is partnering with the Association Sécurité Routière Saint Martin (Saint Martin Road Safety Association) to host its dedicated Road Safety Village. The region's elite riders from St. Eustatius, Guadeloupe, Sint Maarten (Philipsburg), and of course, Saint Martin will be participating.

A Road Safety Village is at the heart of the event because a passion for motorcycles must always go hand in hand with protection. The village dedicated to road safety and prevention will be open to the public and participants throughout the day on Sunday.

Several interactive and educational workshops will be available: Riding Simulators: A specific simulator for two-wheelers to test reflexes and better understand road risks, Simulation Workshops: Courses using specialised goggles that simulate driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, giving everyone a look at the dangers of these behaviours, and other prevention workshops: Hosted by road safety professionals.

Programme: Saturday, May 30: 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM: Technical and administrative checks (verifying vehicle and riders' documentation). 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM: Test and tune sessions for the riders.

Sunday, May 31: Race  Day: Official Motorcycle Runs: Competition opens across various categories: Pro Stock, Street Bike, TMax, Scooters, and Quads. Car Demonstration: An exceptional car show will complement the track action for the ultimate enjoyment of spectators.

Registration Requirements and mandatory rider gear. To participate the organisation reminds everyone that absolutely no exceptions will be made regarding safety. Administration: Riders must have purchased their license online via the official FFM (Fédération Française de Motocyclisme) website and hold a valid medical certificate of fitness.

Mandatory Rider Gear: Full-face helmet, leather motorcycle gloves, motorcycle shoes or boots, a protective suit (1-piece, or 2-piece connectable by zip), and an approved back protector.

Traffic information for the public. RN7 Closure and Detours. To ensure the event runs safely the Route Nationale (RN7) at Grand Case will be completely closed between the Hope Estate zone and the car wash station on Saturday from 1:45 PM to 4:00 PM and on Sunday from 5:30am to 4:00pm, in accordance with official enforcement orders.

Strict detours will be put in place to keep traffic moving: Traffic coming from Marigot: Detour via Shanty Town with a mandatory exit at Hope Estate. Traffic heading from Hope Estate to Marigot : Detour through Route de l'Espérance and exit via the Boulevard de Grand Case (town center).

The organisers are issuing an appeal for responsibility to all road users and spectators attending the event: We ask for absolute discipline. Wearing a helmet is an absolute necessity on the road every day.

For this event to remain a celebration and to ensure the smooth flow of emergency services and traffic, we require everyone to park properly and strictly respect the parking zones in the Hope Estate sector. Important Reminder: The use of drones is strictly prohibited across the entire event site for obvious reasons of aviation and public safety. Come out in large numbers, keep it responsible, and let's celebrate motorsports in Saint Martin!
