 St. Maarten wins Netball Tournament held on Saba

THE BOTTOM- St Maarten JJ Netball Team (St Maarten Junior Junior Netball Team) took home the first place Trophy. Miss Tyler Timothy received best Shooter trophy and Miss Aljenee Henry received MVP Trophy.


Saba came in Second place along with Best Defender Ciandra Gomez from the Saba Aces Team
St. Eustatuis' Lighting Legends took home Best Discipline Team
As well as all participants received medals for participating in 2022 Saba's Netball tournament. The awards and metals were distributed by Mr Dave Levenstone and Mrs Tracey Johnson-Zagers. 
Saba held its very first Netball Tournament this past weekend with teams from neighbouring Islands St Maarten and St. Eustatuis. Back in 2019 the game was introduced to the Island of Saba. In February of 2020, Saba traveled for the first time to St Maarten and played some friendly games were they gained a lot of experience. The sport has been coach by Ms. Tevonille Dunchi. 
On Friday, for the opening of the Tournament Commissioner of Sports Rolando Wilson welcomed the St Maarten Team and thanked them for making this event possible by accepting the invitation and also to St Eustatius team even though they only was able to attend the Saturday) also gave a little explanation how the game is played. As many locals weren't familiar with the sport. Nevertheless, the girls really showed off their skills and passion for the sport tremendously for audience and fans.
