NORTH CAROLINA--St. Maarten baseball player Julius King is living the dream.    He is playing baseball. He is an infielder playing the corners.  He stands 6 feet tall and weighs 195 pounds.

King is competing in the Southern Shores Baseball League.    The league features teams at the independent pro, summer collegiate, and pro/collegiate showcase levels.

“The competition will take our team across the state of North Carolina. The season runs for 2 months.”     King continued, “I am playing for the Tarheel Kings and the Carolina Yankees, and I’m playing the hot corners, first and third base.

The summer will be filled with road trips, and many opportunities to contribute both offensively and defensively.

“Yesterday we played against the Fuquay-Varina Twins, I went 3-3 on the day, 2 singles, a double and 5 Rbi's, and I played at third base.”
