St. Maarten Dynamics Sports wins 25 medals at Trupial Track & Field meet

CURACAO --Dynamics Sports of St. Maarten captured 25 medals at the Trupial Track & Field Championship in Curacao July 8 and 9. The group consisted of 19 athletes, 3 coaches, a board member, and 6 supporters.


It had been two years since Dynamics had competed in Curacao because of Covid-19.
Participating countries in this year’s meet were, St. Maarten, Aruba, Suriname, Dominican Republic, Bonaire, and six teams from Curacao.
The first day of competition Dynamics captured six medals in the relay festival and continued the medal haul on the second day by winning 19 more.
The two day total was 25 medals. The team won 12 gold, 7 silver, and 6 bronze.
“The competition was extremely fierce. Especially the charge from Curacao and Aruba,” said a very proud head coach, Abdule Wattley. “Our athletes stood firm and displayed an outstanding performance.”
The St. Maarten team competed in age groups Under-9,U-11, U-13, U-15 and U-17.

Shaqueena Brooks U-9 2 medals, Bronze 60M, Bronze ball throw;
Roshawn Jones U-11 4 medals, Gold 4x100M Relay Mix, Gold Ball throw, Gold 60M, Silver Long Jump;
Arthur Maduro U-11 1 medal Gold Long jump;  
Chardea Richardson U-13 3medals. Gold 4x100m Relay mix, Gold Medley Mix Relay, Silver 800m;
Joleen Tomlin U-13 4 medals Gold 4x100m Relay Mix, Gold Medley Relay mix, Silver 60m, Bronze Long Jump;
Shadwayna Gumbs U-13 1 Medal Bronze 60m;
Collis Morgan U-13 4 medals Gold 4x100m Relay Mix, Gold Medley Relay mix, Silver Ball Throw, Silver 800m:
Titus Richardson Boasman U-13 2 medals Gold Medley Relay, Bronze Long Jump;
Carlos Brison U-15 3 Medals Gold 800m, Silver 4x100m Relay Mix, Bronze Medley Mix;
Khalia Brown U-15 3 Medals Gold Shotput, Silver 4x100m Relay Mix, Bronze Medley Mix;
Triston Ettienne U-15 4 Medals  Silver 4x100 Relay Mix, Silver Ball Throw, Silver Long Jump, Bronze Medley Relay;
Sariah Allamby U-15 2 Medals Silver 4x100m Relay Mix, Bronze Medley Relay;
Macclin Sherriff U-17 2 Medals Gold 5000m, Gold 800m;
Tracy Emilien U-20 2 Medals Gold 5000m, Gold 800m; 
Abdule Wattley Masters 35+ 1 Medal Gold Javelin 
 Also competing for Dynamics were, Jay Ambris, Angelique Robless and Aaron Peter’s
Chanel Richardson who participated in the Carifta Games was unable to participate due to some tightness in her hamstring and a decision was made to pull her from the event to avoid riskof Injuries. 
Assisting coach Abdule Wattley were coaches Louis Richardson Alan Richardson and secretary Javes Clarke .
Sponsors who made this trip a reality for the athletes were, Hillside Christian School, Guardian Group, Sunny food/ Market Garden/ Carrefour and their shoppers for their donations.
Dynamics next event will be in Nevis July 24 for the Culturama Games.
