ANGUILLA—Sonic won all four of the races during this week of sailing. She came in first on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday and on Sunday won the Championship Race. She is now the Boat of the Year.
In the A Class Championship race Sonic was first, Bush Boyz second, Speed and Comfort came in third and then Wizard. In the B Class Championship race De Storm won, Dark Shadows was second, Alma Gloria third and F5 came in fourth.
During the last part of the race in Sandy Ground harbour on Sunday the Satellite somehow hooked up with Bush Boyz and immediately sank. The rescue boat was there in no time and rescued the crew and then divers started to pull the boat up.
Real Deal, usually one of the top winners, also had problems with parts of the mast being broken in Monday’s race and again on Thursday.
