SMYC places fourth at Dinghy Championships

SIMPSON BAY--The Sint Maarten sailing team finished fourth overall after nine races over two days in Puerto Rico at the Caribbean Dinghy Championships recently. The annual event attracts the best teams in the region to compete in teams comprising adults to children.
After some very tight races across five classes the team from the BVI finished first over all. Team Island Water World led by Frits Bus finished first in the IC 24 class to give Sint Maarten its best result of the event in a class where every boat had a first and a last place finish.
Alec Scarabelli and Johanna Looser finished third in the 420 class. The rest of team raced hard but were unable to place better than fourth against very strong competition to leave the team in fourth place overall.
