Senior League Football resumes with round two

CAY HILL--The second round of the 2021-2022 SXMFF Men’s Senior League kicked-off with three matches at Raoul Illidge Sports Complex over the weekend.
On Saturday, in the first match of the weekend, a top of the table clash between Flames United SC and 758 Boyz, surely didn’t disappoint.

It was a back-and-forth match. 758 Boyz took a 1-0 early lead. Flames United fought back to go up 2-1.
758 Boyz then equalized. Late on Flames United showed their superiority scoring the winning goal and taking all 3 points.
In Sunday’s action, SCSA Eagles started off strong versus Belvedere FC, scoring three goals in the first half hour of the match.
The match definitely showed signs of becoming a one-sided affair. Belvedere FC kept on fighting and created some chances. SCSA Eagles eventually ran out 6-0 winners.
In the final match of the weekend, C & D Connection faced off against FC Soualiga.
C & D Connection controlled the ball and jumped out to a 2-0 lead midway through the first half.
FC Soualiga never really offered much of threat going forward and were made to pay for that when C & D Connection scored a third goal.
Both teams missed a penalty kick late in the second half, which resulted in a final score of 3 - 0 in favour of C & D Connection.
The only club not in action past weekend was Hottspurs, who had a bye (rest) weekend.
Match postponements of game week 8 have been rescheduled for the next 3 Wednesdays.
Today’s rescheduled match features C & D Connection versus Belvedere FC starting at 7:00pm.
