ANGUILLA--Real Deal was a clear winner in the A-Class Champion of Champions boat race held on Sunday, coming in a good 30 seconds ahead of second place Satellite. In third place was Sonic followed by De Tree and Bluebird. The winner received US $1,500 and second place US $1,400, third was US $1,300, fourth US $1,200 and fifth US $1,100.
There were one or two incidents during the race with UFO and 4G Eagle running into one another causing UFO to have a broken jib and 4G Eagle a bent mast. Both boats are from Island Harbour, and had to be towed in.
In the B-Class the Champion is The Storm. In second place was Upsetter, followed by Tornado, Legal Rights and Hurricane. The winner received US $1,200, second place US $1,100, third received US $1,000 and fourth US $900. All participating boats received EC $800.
