ANGUILLA—For the third consecutive race Real Deal took first place in the August Thursday races at Meads Bay, having already won on Monday and Tuesday. Crowds were on the beach to cheer on the boats. It was a close race with Light and Peace taking second place, De Wizard in third, followed by Sonic and De Tree.
During the race the UFO and the Satellite collided and as a result the Satellite sank. Plans are to pull her up on Friday but it is unlikely she will be repaired in time for the Championship race on Sunday.
Boats who qualified for the Champion of Champions race on Sunday are Real Deal, De Wizard, Bluebird, De Tree, Speed and Comfort, Light and Peace, Sonic, and Bluebird. The race takes place from Sandy Ground beach and is due to start at 3 pm.
