Twenty-eight year old Michealangelo Bell, represented St. Maarten at the Central American and Caribbean Games held in Colombia. Bell competed in the 90 kilo class.  He had two fights and lost both. In the first match he went up against Cuban Ivan Silva and lost due to three technical faults (Shido) resulting in an ippon.

Against Guadeloupe's Kris Virgina Bell lost because of a choke hold (ippon). The ippon is the ultimate way to claim victory in the match and it is the highest score in judo. Bell was unable to execute his full potential due to an old injury sustained in a prior match involving his middle and ring finger.
