King Yen students prepare for Black Belt Examinations

MIDDLE REGION--Students of the King Yen Tae kwon do School are very busy. Some 25 are preparing to compete in the International Tae kwon Do Championship March 12 and 13, in San German, Puerto Rico.  Others will be busy this weekend taking their Black belt Examinations.


  “After years of hard training some adult and several very youthful students will be tested for the highest rank in Tae kwon do, their Black Belt,” said Grand Master of the King Yen School Theo Liu.
  “This is the seventh time in the young World Tae kwon do Federation history of St. Maarten that the students of our island move up to such a high rank and the examination is done by our own expert in St. Maarten.”
  Helping and observing the examinations will be Grand Master Jose (Chaco) Cornelio former Vice President of the Pan American Union, past President of the Aruban Taekwondo Federation and currently one of the best WTF referees in the World.
  In addition to helping with the black belt examinations he will be conducting a coaching and judging   seminar.
