JAG and Hillside to clash for Kiddy Cricket Championship

CUL DE SAC--The two finalists for the 2018 Scotiabank Inter-elementary School Kiddy Cricket tournament are John A. Gumbs (JAG) Campus and the Hillside Christian Primary. They will play against each other from 2:00pm today.


The two teams earned the right to the final after JAG defeated Browlia F. Maillard Campus by 61 runs and Hillside Christian Primary outplayed the St. Maarten Seventh-day Adventist School by 63 runs in semi-final action.
JAG posted 168 for four in 11 overs. The main scorers were Balram Ramnauth with 82 (9x4, 7x6) and Israel Morton with 58 (1x4, 8x6). In response, Yash Mahtani with 56 (5x4, 4x6) helped his team reach 107 for three in 11 overs.
In the other semi-final, Hillside Christian Primary scored 118 for two in 11 overs. St. Maarten Seventh-day Adventist Primary replied with 55 for four in 11 overs.
For Hillside Christian Primary, Edmond Pieters blasted 75 (5x4, 9x6) and Leandro Barry contributed 34 (3x4, 2x6). For St. Maarten Seventh-day Adventist Primary Kegon Russell top scored with 15 (3x4).
The two losing semi-finalists in Browlia F. Maillard Campus and the St. Maarten Seventh-day Adventists Primary will play for the third place trophy from 2:00pm.
After the finals, officials from Scotiabank and Cricket St. Maarten will be on hand to present the team and individual awards to the players.
