Grand Master Theo Liu meets with Prime Minister of St. Maarten, Doctor Luc Mercelina.
PHILIPSBURG--St. Maarten’s Grand Master Theo Liu was invited to meet with Prime Minister of St. Maarten, Doctor Luc Mercelina to discuss his upcoming trip to Korea.
Grand Master Theo Liu will be representing the Friendly Island at Global Traditional Taekwondo Federation summit at the Hanok Complex . One-hundred-fifty countries will be attending at the summit.
One of the highlights of the summit will be a special award ceremony to honour individuals who have earned the their 9th Dan in the past two years. Last year no meeting was possible due to covid.
Grandmaster Liu received his 9th Dan Black Belt October 2024.
The grandmasters invitation to Korea read; “You who have devoted your entire live to Taekwondo. Your noble passion and lifelong dedication have become the very roots of what Taekwondo is today, and they represent a proud spirit that must be carried forward by future generations. To honor your years of commitment and outstanding contributions, the GTTF has prepared a special commemorative event during the upcoming Summit.”
The ceremony will take place November 22, at the Traditional Hanok Complex within the Symbolic District of the Taekwondowon, the sacred home of Taekwondo in South Korea.
The invitation continued, “This gathering will not simply be a formal event, but a heartfelt occasion to reflect upon the spirit of Taekwondo and your lifelong journey — a moving moment of unity for the global Taekwondo community.”
