Drift and Drag Show Down 2 promises creatively and power

POND ISLAND—The St. Maarten Automotive Federation will Celebrate St. Maarten Day with Exhibition Drift and Drag Show Down 2 at the Government /APS Parking lot on Pond Island November 11.

The show was originally scheduled to start at 3:00pm. However, demand has been so great it will now start at 1:00pm and run until 8:00pm.
Highlighting the show will be at least 11 drifters including at least one lady. Drivers, one at a time, circle their cars around the parking lot. Tires smoke and squeal and lay down rubber marks on the pavement as the cars do tight doughnuts. Some cars even throw off sparks as they make their circles.
Next come the “Tandem Drifter Dance” where two cars circle the parking lot, with engines roaring and tires squealing.
The drivers are promising  creativity which means the fans are in for a real treat in Show Down 2.
Not to be out down, drag racers will also show off both their cars and their acceleration abilities.
The show is a collaboration between the Automotive Federation, the St. Maarten Drift Association and the St. Maarten  Drag Racing Association.
Demonstrations were presented by Mad Mechanics, Bad-Ek'z, St. Maarten Drag Racing Association, SXMhoonigans, St. Maarten Outlawz, Music Cars and Stunt Bikes.
Helping make the Shown Down become a reality are Liqui Moly, Dream Big Photography, Tiremaxx, Print & Sign Express, Septic Fresh Services, TelEm and Colosseum SXM.
