CrossFitSXM preparing for Fittest on Earth

CAY HILL--CrossFitSXM athletes Alan Schet and Cameron Hyman are headed to Curacao for some high intensity training this week.

“CrossFitSXM is committed to prepare at least one athlete to qualify for the CrossFit Regionals, within the next two to three years,” said Martijn Schaap.  The training facility ensures that the athletes train daily and plan international training camps and competitions.
“Currently both Allan and Cameron train four to six hours daily at CrossFitSXM,” said Schaap.
“Thru our partners Loumi Administrative represented by Michelette Boasman, Pineapple Pete and Sushitto, represented by Pierre Ferland,  our local athletes are able to prepare themselves to the max. “
The CrossFit Open is a three stage competition. The first is a five-week five –workout competition via the internet during the winter.  Workouts are released on a Thursday and athletes have until Monday to do the workouts and submit their scores.
The top 17 scores from each region advance to the second round.
The athletes from two to three regions are grouped together to compete in a three day live competition starting in May with the top five moving on.
The final will be held in August. Each year the competition changes, so the athletes do not know what challenges they will have. The winners are crowned Fittest on Earth.
