CrossFit SXM resumes training

CAY HILL--CrossFit SXM suffered damage from both Hurricane Irma and then looters. Yet the workouts continue. Nearly 20 members met Saturday morning for a 35 minute workout.

The group posted on their Facebook page; “We are down but not giving up. Hurricane Irma caused substantial damage to our island and many of our members’ homes. Many members have volunteered and are helping in their respective communities with the clean-up effort and support.
They continued with a joke, “Odd object carries coming in handy.”
“Without any equipment we still came together to train Saturday,” said coach Dwight Williams. “We did a lot of running. It was good to see everyone.”
Saturday morning workouts will continue starting at 6:30am.
During the week, CrossFit SXM is posting 20 minute workouts for anyone bold enough to try them out.
Monday the workout was 100 thrusters with a 1.5 litre water bottle in each hand. Every minute the athlete had to do five burpees and then back to thrusters.
