Cricket4Life brings big names and excitement to cricket

CUL DE SAC—Narsingh Deonarine, a former Guyana and West Indies player will be one of the stars on show for Cricket4Life Keacy Carty T20 tournament at the Caribe Lumber Ballpark from Thursday.


Deonarine who played 18 test matches, 31 one day internationals and eight (8) Twenty20 for the West Indies is a swashbuckling batsman and crafty off spinner. He is famous for hitting a six off the last ball to give Guyana the first win in the now defunct Adam Stanford 2020 tournament back in 2006.
Deonarine will be playing for Motorworld cricket team. Other outstanding players on show are local star Keacy Carty, Jamal Hamilton from Anguilla and Kofi James from Antigua.
All three players are members of the defending champion, General Auto Repairs Spartans.
There are six teams in the tournament. They are Spartans, Future Champs, Sun Insurance Jaguars, Motorworld, Combined Stars and Team Tuck Bears The schedule is as follows; July 1 from 10:00am Sun Insurance Jaguars will take on Team Tuck bear and from 2:00pm, Spartans will do battle against Combined Stars.
On July 2 from 10:00am, Future Champs will match skills with Jaguars and from 2:00pm, Motorworld will face up to Combined Stars.
The final preliminary match will be played on July 3 from 10:00am; Team Tuck Bears vs Future Champs and from 2:00pm, Spartans VS Motor World.
The top four teams will compete in the semifinals 1 and 2 from 9:00am and 11:00am respectively. The grand final will bowl off from 2:00pm where the winner of that match will received US$5,000.
