PORT DE PLAISANCE--Gabriel Pertusot was the overall male winner and Melina Bruneau was the overall female winner in the annual BDO Half Marathon powered by ILTT and organized by the St. Maarten Road Runners at Port de Plaisance.
Pertusot turned in a time of 1:22:25 and Bruneau completed the course in1:49:16.
A total of 324 runners competed in one of four distances. Sevethy six people completed the 5 KM division. 88 finished the 7.5 km distance while 80 did 10km. 86 others compleded the 21 kn half marathon.
BDO was the main sponsor of the event that promotes health, physical activity, and community connection.
Other top finishers in the male division included Vincent Roucaute at 1:25:38 and Luca Ferrari with a time of 1:29:56.
In the women’s group Katherine Edwards was second at 1:50:23 and followed by Roma Dhanani at 1:51:13.
Runners of all levels took part, from competitive athletes chasing podium spots and personal bests, to first-time participants taking on new challenges and successfully completing their chosen race.
Helping make the BDO possible were the volunteers who supported registration, race logistics, and course operations throughout the day with support from KPSM police officers and the French Gendarmes.
