ST. JOHN’S, Antigua--Prime Minister (PM) Gaston Browne revealed comprehensive plans for substantial road improvements across Antigua and Barbuda, outlining a significant investment of approximately EC $410 million to enhance infrastructure within communities.

Browne emphasised the transformative impact of these developments, urging citizens to remain patient as the government works towards tangible progress.

Speaking on Pointe FM, Prime Minister Browne stated, “We are committed to improving the quality of life for all residents of Antigua and Barbuda. These road improvements represent a crucial step towards creating safer, more accessible communities for everyone.”

Browne also addressed criticisms and highlighted the broader context of progress in the country, stating, “While we acknowledge the challenges ahead, such as falling inflation rates and ongoing efforts to address education, housing and food prices, we are confident in our ability to deliver positive outcomes for our citizens.”

Regarding the timeline for the road improvement project, Browne mentioned, “Work will commence this week, and we anticipate significant improvements in community roads by the end of the year. This initiative reflects our government’s commitment to enhancing infrastructure and leaving no room for criticism.”

In response to comments about Opposition Member of Parliament Richard Lewis, Browne expressed confidence in the upcoming elections, stating, “We are focused on our vision for the future and remain undeterred by distractions. Our priority is delivering results that benefit all Antiguans and Barbudans.”
