BEQUIA, St. Vincent--The St. Vincent and the Grenadines Coast Guard has confirmed the death of four people after a plane heading to St. Lucia from Bequia crashed.

Coast Guard Commander Deon Henry told St. Lucia Times that at 12:08pm on Thursday, January 4, the Coast Guard received a report that a plane had crashed into the sea off Bequia.

“The plane left Bequia for St. Lucia with four persons on board,” Henry said.

He said a Vincentian piloted the light aircraft with three American nationals, a father and two young daughters, on board.

Henry said the weather was good.
